The Tenderness pieces hold a fire — our own creative fire — carried through their vertical, skyward patterns. Both graphic and flowing, muscular and tender, they call forth a feeling of transcendence.
The Tenderness sconces can create sculptural compositions, rising up the walls of a high-ceilinged lobby, or adorn a frame or mirror — transferring their ascending energy to the objects and people around them.
☞ Process insight: The making of the Tenderness lightunfolds through iterative gestures, assembling one strip of clay at a time, for an hour or more. The pleated form is then carried in our forearms and set onto its sturdy ceramic backmount.
